    Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared the independence ofBangladeshthrough a message on 26 March 1971 just before he was arrested at about 1:30 am which was announced from Chittagong Kalurhat Radio station . The news spread throughout the world and it was published in the news media of several countries on 27 March 1971.
